How Delta Dental Patient Direct Works
Almost every type of dental service is discounted under Delta Dental Patient Direct, including routine cleanings and exams, fillings, and major services such as crowns, bridges, implants and orthodontic care. In addition, discounts apply to tooth bleaching procedures.
Participating dentists agree to charge Delta Dental Patient Direct patients no more than the discounted fee amounts referenced in their provider contracts with Delta Dental. Delta Dental Patient Direct is a discount program, not insurance, so Delta Dental is not involved in the appointment scheduling or payment arrangements. Patients retain direct communications with their dentists for all services and payments.
Refer to the Delta Dental Patient Direct Sample Schedule of Discounted Fees for a list of the discounted fees applicable to the most common dental procedures. Services that are not discounted include dental care typically covered under medical care plans, very specialized or experimental services, lab costs, prescription drugs and implant procedures that do not meet Delta Dental’s standards for clinical outcomes. Ask your Delta Dental Patient Direct dentist for the discounted fee that applies to any procedure not shown on the sample schedule.
